Bigfork Grinds Out Tough Win Against Whitefish Baseball

The Whitefish Bulldog Baseball team was back home, Tuesday afternoon, as they played host to Bigfork out at Smith Fields.

This was a battle between two of the North Conference's top teams as Whitefish entered the showdown just ahead of Bigfork in the standings.

The Vikings would come away with a gritty 4-3. Bigfork not only snapped Whitefish’s 7-game win streak but also took over the No. 3 seed in the conference.

The Vikings would get on the board, first in the 2nd inning of action as a pair of Whitefish errors led to Grady Campbell coming into score.

The Dawgs would rebound and plated 2, in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to a Christian Schwaderer RBI Triple, followed by a Carter Godsey Sacrifice Fly RBI.

Whitefish tacked on one more in the 4th as Calvin Eisenbarth came into score following a Ryan Conklin single.

Bigfork would take the lead in the 5th as Liam Benson and Sam Plummer delivered back-to-back RBI Singles.

Mason Lewis took to the hill, for the Vikings, and gutted out a big win. He threw all 7 innings, gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits and struck out 1.

Whitefish's Logan Stewart was charged his first loss of the season. Stewart threw 5 innings pitched. He gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits. He walked 4 and struck out 9.
