Whitefish Track Teams Battle the Elements in 1st Season Meet

The Whitefish Track Teams got their season underway, on Tuesday, as they were in Kalispell for the Flathead Triangular.

The meet took place on a wet snowy Legends Stadium as Whitefish battled Flathead and Big Sky High School's.

Big Sky would sweep the team titles with Flathead second.

Whitefish had some athletes with stellar times to start the year.

First a look at how the Whitefish Girls performed:

Anna Boysen took 2nd in both the 100 and 200 Meter Dashes.

Ginger Bergland was 3rd in the 100 with Mila Maddock 5th in the 200.

Rachael Wilmot won the 400 with a time of 1:00.44.

Sophie Douglas took 4th in both the 800 and 1600 Meter runs.

Grace Inabnit 5th in the 1600 with Sierra Gibb 6th.

Margaret Zonich was 5th in the 300 hurdles and 4th in the High Jump.

Sol Holmquist won the Discus throw with a throw of 83 feet. E Ratchye was 4th with Gabby Diehl 5th. 

Grace Sliman was 2nd in the High Jump.

Both Whitefish's 4x100 and 4x400 Relay Teams took 1st place.

The 4x100 Relay Team (Emma Brown, Ginger Bergland, Mila Maddock, Anna Boysen) finished with a time of 51.20.

The 4x400 Relay Team (Grace Inabnit, Anna Boysen, Savy Evans, Rachael Wilmot) finished with a time of 4:26.14.

And now a look at how the Whitefish Boys performed:

Riley Zetooney 5th in the 100.

Colby Minton won the 400 with a time of 53.20 and was 5th in the 200.

Ethan Amick took 6th in the 200.

Preston McPherson was 2nd in the 400 with Logan Heyne 5th.

Simon Douglas took 2nd in the 800.

Peter Schram was 5th in the 3200.

Carson Gulick was 3rd in both the 110 Hurdles and High Jump and was 4th in the 400.

Anderson Barrile was 2nd in the Shot Put with Braylon Dunn 5th.

Braylon Dunn 3rd in the Discus with Anderson Barille 4th.

Both the 4x100 and 4x400 Relay Teams took 3rd.

4x100 Relay Team (Bodee Hanson, Scotty Dalen, Riley Zetooney, Ethan Amick) finished with a time of 45.51.

4x400 Relay team (Colby Minton, Simon Douglas, Scott Schram, Ethan Amick) finished with a time of 3:40.47.

The Whitefish Track teams will be back in action on Saturday as they'll be in Bigfork for the Bigfork Invitational.
