Both Whitefish High School soccer teams will compete for a Class A State Championship this Saturday, marking a special day for Bulldog soccer.
For the first time since 2022, both Bulldog teams have advanced to the State Championship on the same day. And the last time that happened, both teams brought home the title.
Now, in 2026, the Dawgs have a chance to do it all over again.
Both teams put together outstanding regular seasons, capturing their respective conference titles. The Lady Dawgs finished the year 12-1-1 overall and 9-0-1 in conference play, while the Bulldog boys went 10-1-3 overall and 8-0-2 in conference action.
The Lady Dawgs opened the postseason with a 3-1 victory over Park before taking care of business against Laurel in the semifinals, earning a hard-fought 1-0 win to punch their ticket to the championship.
The boys began their playoff run with a 4-2 shootout victory over Lockwood before defeating Park/Sweet Grass 3-1 in the semifinals to secure their spot in the title match.
Now, both teams are just one win away from bringing another state championship back to Whitefish.
Hear from head coaches Kelly Ordway and Eric Sawtelle as they preview their respective championship matchups and discuss what it will take to finish the season on top.
The Lady Dawgs will have home-field advantage as they host rival Columbia Falls at Smith Fields, with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
The Bulldog boys will hit the road to Billings, where they'll take on Billings Central at 1 p.m.
Two teams. One big Saturday. And a chance to bring home two state championships.
