These distinguished alumni will be formally inducted at the Bulldog Booster Auction on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Grouse Mountain Lodge.
Cyril Burguiere, Class of 1998, was a standout athlete in both basketball and track. He helped lead the Bulldogs to a 1998 Divisional Basketball Championship and was named All-State and Team MVP. In track, Cyril was a two-time State Champion and earned multiple podium finishes in the high jump, triple jump, and long jump. He went on to compete for Montana State University, earning All-Big Sky honors and Academic All-American recognition.
Jim Baker, a 1958 graduate, excelled in track, football, basketball, and baseball. He was the 1958 State Javelin Champion and contributed to multiple championship teams. After high school, Jim played baseball in the minor leagues and later dedicated his career to education and public service. He was inducted into the Montana Indian Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.
Doug Knapton, Class of 1958, was a dominant force on the track, winning multiple state titles in hurdles and earning the High Point Award at the 1958 State Meet. A three-sport athlete, Doug was a key contributor to conference titles in football and basketball. He went on to serve with distinction as a helicopter pilot in Korea and Vietnam and later worked in air traffic control.
These three individuals exemplify the Bulldog spirit through their athletic excellence, leadership, and lifelong contributions. Please join us in celebrating their induction at this year’s Bulldog Booster Auction. A small reception will also occur on Saturday, April 26th at 12:00pm at the Whitefish High School A.R.M.
