The Whitefish High School Lady Bulldogs are celebrating 50 years of girls basketball.
They are inviting all current and former Whitefish Girls Basketball players, families and supporters to join them in remembering the legacy you’ve ALL helped to create.
The event is on Thursday, February 20th. The Lady Dawgs will be hosting the Libby Loggers: JV at 5:45pm, Varsity at 7:00 pm. This year’s Senior players will be honored alongside all Whitefish Girls Basketball Alum in attendance.
The first WHS girls basketball season was in 1974. In January 1973, a group of students and parents led by Meg Muldown and Viki Hileman approached the District 44 school board about a girls team. They needed 200+ signatures - they got over 500. Viki - captain of that first team who went on to become an All-American player - will be there to make a special tribute.
