The Whitefish Bulldog Baseball team returned to action for the first time in several weeks, Tuesday, as they traveled to Corvallis for a non-conference game.
This was the Dawgs first game since they played their opener, March 15th and 16th in Polson. They've had several games post-poned due to the weather.
Whitefish would fall by a final score of 22-14.
The Dawgs took an early 2-1 lead in the top of the second following a Drew Queen 2 RBI Double.
Corvallis would capitalize in the bottom half of the inning, putting up nine runs in the bottom of the 2nd and held a 10-2 lead after the first two innings.
Whitefish would find themselves down 12-2 entering the fourth, that's when the bats came alive. The Dawgs put up a 10-spot in the top of the fourth to tie things up at 12 a piece.
Once again, Corvallis would answer in a big way, responding with a nine run bottom half. Corvallis led 21-12 after four innings and held on for the win.
The Dawgs finished with 12 hits and 11 walks in the contest.
Ryan Conklin, Brady Howke and Calvin Eisenbarth all had 2 hits each for the Dawgs to lead the way. Conklin and Queen each had 3 RBI's. C.J. Thew scored 3 runs for the Dawgs.
Following all the action Whitefish falls to 0-3 on the season.
Up Next: The Dawgs will take on arch rival, Columbia Fall, Thursday night at 7pm.
On Friday, the Dawgs will make-up their game against Lincoln County, up in Eureka at 5pm.
Both the C-Falls and Eureka games will be broadcast live on KSAM.
