Whitefish Athletes Selected for Inaugural Baseball Shrine Game

The first ever Montana Shrine Baseball Classic will be taking place in the Treasure State this August.

The All-Star Game will take place Saturday, August 16th in Butte, at Three Legends Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm.

The contest features two teams, East Vs. West, and will be made up of graduated seniors only.

Just like the East-West Shrine Football game all money raised will befit the Shriners Children’s hospital in Spokane, Washington.

Head coaches from all the Montana High School Baseball teams were asked to nominate the the players they thought were most worthy.

The hope is to make this a spectacle with players reporting to Butte on Thursday August 14th, practice on Friday and have a banquet Friday night.  A parade will take place on Saturday followed by the game.

The West Roster features several Flathead Valley athletes, highlighted by three kids from Whitefish.

Avery Caton (Catcher), Ryan Conklin (Shortstop) and Christian Schwaderer (Outfielder) are the three to represent the Green and Gold. Sam Plummer from Bigfork is the other Flathead Valley Standout selected for the West Team.
