For the first time since 2021 the Whitefish Girls Basketball team is off to the State Tournament.
The Lady Dawgs enter State the No. 3 seed out of the West, after defeating Columbia Falls and Bigfork last Saturday.
This is the best seeding the Lady Dawgs have secured for State since the 2008 season. In 08 they were the No. 2 seed. Only the top two teams from each conference advanced then. In 2021 they were the No. 4 seed.
The Lady Dawgs have grown up this year. This is a roster that features primarily Freshman and Sophomores but they haven't played like it, especially recently.
Whitefish finished the regular season 13-5, 9-3 in conference play. They are now 16-6 overall after the Divisional Tournament.
They've been lead by the three headed monster of Reese Hudson, Allie Shors and Avery Orme.
Orme (Freshman) has scored nearly 400 points this season and is on pace to be one of the highest scoring Lady Dawgs of All-Time.
Shors (Sophomore) can do it all. She averages 12 points a game, is 4th in Class "A" in rebounds at 9.2 per contest. She's also top 10 in assists.
Hudson (Sophomre) brings a calming presence on the perimeter. She can knock down shots and played arguably her best basketball of the season at the Divisional Tournament.
Combine those three with Stella Frisbee and Sammie Shors, down low, and this team is raring to go.

The State Tournament take place in Great Falls, at the Four Seasons Arena, Thursday through Saturday.
Whtiefish opens Tourney play, Thursday, against the Havre Lady Blue Ponies. Tip-off at 6:30pm.
